Study Programs

The HAWtech Alliance unites six leading German Universities of Applied Sciences which offer a wide range of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs with a focus on Engineering and Natural Sciences. Beside this common focus, HAWtech also provides numerous degree programs in other fields, such as Business, IT, Media, and Design.

All six institutions in the Alliance share a practical approach to learning and are built upon close links to local industry. Joint research projects and technology transfer ensure that the students benefit from a training which is applied and close to the world of work. However, it is not only the specialist technical knowledge that qualifies the students; they also acquire valuable social and methodological skills – in their seminar-style classroom coursework, during study projects, and in their internship periods.

In addition to this diversified way of learning, students have many opportunities to improve their foreign language and intercultural skills during their education at HAWtech. They get to choose from different language courses offered through the institutions’ own Foreign Languages Centers, they can take part in English-taught programs, and they have various options to spend time abroad. This can be a complete semester or year at one of the numerous partner universities, as an intern gaining international on-the-job experience in a company, or during a short-term faculty-led trip as part of a certain module. On the other hand, the HAWtech universities welcome exchange students from international partner institutions and provide comprehensive services and support before and during their stay in Germany.

The high-quality education makes HAWtech university graduates highly sought-after young professionals on the German and international job market. This is also reflected in the top positions achieved in various German university ranking tables.
