HAWtech universities shine in "Wirtschaftswoche" and CHE rankings

The University Alliance for Applied Sciences (HAWtech) is pleased to announce the outstanding results of its member universities in the current rankings of the magazine Wirtschaftswoche and the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE).

In the current Wirtschaftswoche ranking, HAWtech universities have achieved top positions in several categories:

  •     Business Administration: HTW Berlin in 1st place, Aachen University in 6th place
  •     Computer Science: HTW Berlin in 1st place, Aachen University in 3rd place, HTW Dresden in 10th place
  •     Business Informatics: HTW Berlin in 1st place
  •     Industrial Engineering: HTW Berlin in 1st place, HTW Dresden in 3rd place, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in 10th place

CHE ranking: top positions for HAWtech universities

HAWtech universities also achieved excellent results in the CHE Ranking 2024/2025:

  •     Esslingen University of Applied Sciences: Esslingen University of Applied Sciences is among the top group nationwide in the subjects of computer science and nursing sciences. The Department of Computer Science received top marks in 14 out of 15 categories, including general study situation, support from teaching staff and practical relevance. Nursing Sciences achieved very good ratings in seven categories, with the organization of studies being particularly highlighted.
  •     HTW Berlin: The Bachelor's degree programs in Computer Engineering, Engineering Informatics and Environmental Informatics at HTW Berlin also reached the top group in several categories. The Computer Engineering course in particular scored above average in 14 out of 15 indicators, with outstanding ratings in the general study situation, library facilities and rooms. A new degree course, “Computer Science in Culture and Health”, took part in the CHE Ranking for the first time and reached the top group in the fact check for the indicator “Support at the beginning of studies”.
  •    FH Aachen: The Department of Computer Science at FH Aachen received ratings above the average of all universities surveyed in 13 out of 14 categories. Particularly high ratings were given for supervision by teaching staff and the practical orientation of teaching. FH Aachen also scored well above average in the digital teaching elements category.
  •     HTW Dresden: The business administration, business informatics, international business and industrial engineering degree programmes at HTW Dresden scored particularly well in terms of study organization. The students praised the individual support, the support for stays abroad and the practice-oriented courses. The library and IT equipment were also rated very positively.

These excellent results underline the quality of teaching and the strong practical orientation at HAWtech universities.
